The VAD was run by Commandant Mrs Jessie A. C. Roberts who was the wife of the vicar in Llangedwyn. Church pictured below:
She wrote the same thing on all her members VAD cards:
‘The members of the detachment have done work of general utility which is difficult to classify such as knitting, shirt making etc. Also raising money for ‘Red Cross Days’ and soldier comforts etc. Members doing VAD hospital work have been transferred.’
