Not much is known about Jessie other than that she was the commandant of the No. 8 Llangedwyn detachment, whose tasks included fund raising on Red Cross Days, making comforts by knitting and sewing, moss picking (given on 1 card) and helping in hospital work. Every task seems like it was voluntary and unpaid. Every VAD card was signed by Jessie Roberts, so it is clear she was someone of high status.
The 1911 census records her as living at the Vicarage in Llangedwyn with the vicar.
