Nora was born in 1899 and lived on Bailey Street, Oswestry. She was working as a secretary for a Wholesale Tobacconist before joining the war effort.
War Years
Nora joined the Shropshire 38 VAD and worked at Park Hall Military Hospital from 2/5/1917 until the end of the war. She earned 33s 6d a week as a shorthand typist.
Post War
By 1939 Nora was living with her mother, Elizabeth, at Deepdale in Morda. Headteacher Catherine McDonnell was also living with them at the time.
