Mary was born in 1882 and lived with her family according to 1911 Census in Shelton Hall, Bicton, Shrewsbury, the house had 18 rooms. The family consisted of her father George Butler Lloyd (1854) who was a Bank Director, her mother Constance Mary (1859), her sister Helen (1886) and her brother Thomas Butler(1891). They had 4 servants. In 1916 she married Major Alfred Wynne Corrie owner of Park Hall, Oswestry.
War Years
After turning Park Hall over to become a Military Hospital Mary and her husband moved to Swan House, Shrewsbury. She joined the Shropshire VAD and worked half days as a nurse at Quarry Place Auxiliary Hospital in Shrewsbury.
