Janet Frances Mason was in Lorne Street, Oswestry in 1892. Her parents where Richard and Agnes Mason, she lived with her family and sister Gertrude until she started training as a nurse in 1915.
She trained at Bolingbroke Hospital London; working as a General Nurse meant that she would have to be trained in many different types of nursing, from Orthopaedics to Palliative care, especially with particularly injured soldiers.
After the war she continued to practice as a nurse until 1924 when she married Frank Schroeter who she had two sons with, Richard and David.
