Florence was born in 1889 and lived at 54 Castle Street in 1911, 14 Ferrers Road in 1916 and Hillbury, Middleton Road in 1927.
In 1911 she worked at Fazakerley Infectious Disease Hospital until 1913. During the war the hospital was renamed 1st Western General. Injured soldiers were transported via train to the Fazakerley Station. A number of buildings in the area were used to accommodate troops and their families during this time.
Florence then went to Birmingham Union Infirmary for full training and was there until 1916. She qualified as a midwife in 1921 and married a journalist, Robert A Cuthbert in 1927. She died in 1955.
