Evelyn was born on July 17th, 1898 to Clergyman Charles Ramsey (1859) and Ida Mary (1866). She had two siblings, Charles S (1888) and Jack M (1891). The family also had three servants whilst they were living at the Moreton Vicarage in Oswestry. Evelyn was a boarder at Bellan House School in 1911 when Mrs Lecretia Mickleburg was head teacher.
Evelyn was already a member of the Red Cross when she joined the Cheshire 24 VAD in 1918. She worked at Hook House Red Cross Hospital in Basingstoke from April 1918 – January 1919 as a nurse.
Evelyn moved back to Moreton Vicarage in 1919. She never married and died in 1991.
