Elizabeth Emily was the daughter of Charles and Sophia Corbett although born 21 April 1882 Elizabeth was not christened until May 1883 in Holy Trinity Church. She had four brothers Samuel, Thomas, Charles and Alfred. The family lived on Gate Street first at No.9 and later at No.14. Elizabeth’s father and two of her brothers Samuel and Thomas, worked for the railway and her brother Charles was a shop assistant.
By 1901 Elizabeth at 19 years old is dressmaking on her own account living with her parents. Ten years later she is running a confectioners and grocers on Salop Road. She has a 16 year old, servant Mary Harriet Smith,
In 1934 Kelly’s Directory Elizabeth is still single has a sweet shop at 46 Salop Road.
She died 29th November 1942 in Oswestry and District Hospital and is buried in Oswestry cemetery with her parents and her brother Alfred
