Annie was a farmer’s daughter born in 1873 in Atlow Derbyshire, her father, Thomas (1828) and her mother Rebecca (1835) were married in 1862. She had three brothers James (1877), Thomas (1868), Harry Lister (1863) also a farmer and five sisters Beatrice (1875), Ida Rebecca (1872), Lucy (1870), Mary Florence (1866) and Edith (1864), she also had a nephew called Harry (1907). There were always servants living in the house.
War Years
She enrolled onto the Derbyshire 28 VAD on 10 August 1916 and Annie started work as a VAD nurse at Park Hall Military Hospital in September 1916 until July 1917. She didn’t work anywhere else for the VAD and made her home with her brother Harry. There are no reports available on her work.
Post War Years
Annie died on 19 December 1928 in Biggin House, Hulland, Derbyshire. She was single and when she died she left £938 0s 11d to her sister Beatrice and her nephew Harry.
