Alice worked for the Red Cross whilst living at Tedsmore Hall in West Felton alongside Clara Pitt before joining the war effort.
War Years
Alice moved down to Norton Hall Auxiliary Hospital in Gloucester, and worked from 1915 until 1919 doing 468 hours of work total. Working parties were set up to organise the supply of hospital clothing including socks, shirts, blankets and belts for soldiers. They also made essential hospital equipment such as bandages, splints, swabs and clothing.
