Margaret Maria Edwards born in St Martins was the daughter of farmer Richard Edwards and wife Margaret. They had five children; William, Edward, Elizabeth, Joseph, and Margaret Maria born in 1859.
In 1871 Richard is an innkeeper on Albion Hill, Oswestry along with his wife Margaret. Three of their children are with them: unmarried Elizabeth; Joseph, a clerk at a colliery; Margaret Maria is in school. By 1881, Margaret is widowed. She was working as a licensed victualler at Farmer’s Inn on Albion Hill with her daughters Lizzie and Maggie. Margaret works for her mother as a barmaid in 1891. By 1911 she is running The Feathers 7 & 9 Albion Hill Oswestry. She is unmarried and living with her was her widowed mother. Her mother died in 1914, aged 94.
Margaret Maria Edwards died on 10 January 1945 at 22 Coney Green, Oswestry. She left £475 18s 7d. She was buried with her mother in Oswestry Cemetery.
