Gladys was born in 1888 and she lived in Streatham with her family before being moved to Park Hall Military Hospital when she joined the VADs.
War Years
Gladys joined the London 78 VAD on 14th May 1915. She was sent to the 1st Eastern Military General Hospital until 15th December 1916 (pictures below), before being transferred to Park Hall Military Hospital in Oswestry. Gladys stayed at Park Hall until 2/3/1918.
She was awarded two Scarlet efficiency stripes on 25/5/1917 and was commended on 8/8/1918.
