Frances Helena Bradbury was born on 2 October 1872 in Barnsley, Yorkshire. Her parents were James (a Schoolmaster born in 1844) and Emily (born in 1839). They moved to Aberystwyth when Frances was 9 years old.
In 1901 Frances was working as a housekeeper at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and Convalescent Home in Rhyl, North Wales. From 1904 to 1916 she lived and worked at Oswestry Cottage Hospital. There, according to the 1911 census, she was a nurse.
Frances returned to the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Rhyl from 1916 until 1921. In 1921 she was officially on the Nursing Register and living in Longton, Staffordshire. She moved to Lancing, Sussex in 1937 where she died on 30 June 1946. Her estate of £500 12s 7d was left to Violet Mary Tucker and Winifred Langrish Clarke.
