Fanny Elizabeth Richards was born in Cheltenham on 1 February 1881, the wife of Robert Morris Richards, Chief ticket collector, and Oswestry union representative. She was mother to two children; Margaret Gwendoline, 1905 and Robert Morris born 30 January 1908. In 1911 the family are living at 18 Welsh Walls, a six-roomed house, and they had a lodger named Eva Richards aged 27 from Barmouth, a railway worker.
She was widowed in 1918 when her husband contracted Spanish influenza and died.
According to the 1939 census widowed Fanny was living at Bryn Castell, Oswestry with her son, Robert, a railway assistant. Boarders in the same house were Janet Owen, 1913, a chemist shop assistant, Olwen Hathaway, 1918, a solicitor’s clerk and the Gittins family George, garage proprietor and his wife and daughter both named Margaret.
Fanny died 14 October 1958 leaving £3139 9s 6d.
