Eleanor Jasper was born in 1865 in Farnley, Yorkshire. She was transferred out to South Africa and received the South Africa medal for her service between 1899 and 1902 during the second Boer War. On the 1911 census shows that she was working in the Oswestry Cottage Hospital as a Matron.
She married Private Henry George Mason in March 1918; he was a Canadian soldier fighting on the western front. Unfortunately he was killed in the same year. Eleanor passed away on the 1st October 1938.
