Edith Harrison was born in 1877 and spent the first few years of her life living with her father Thomas Doughty.
In 1901 she trained as a nurse and began working at Salop and Montgomery Council counties Lunatic Asylum and ten years later began work at Morda workhouse. Her work in the lunatic asylum may mean that she was experienced in dealing with illnesses such as PTSD which was common with soldiers. Around this time she married Donald Prestage who would later go on to serve in the Shropshire Yeomanry as a Major.
Edith passed away on the 19th of January 1957.
