19 single people (9 men and 10 women) were listed at the address, most of whom were drapers assistants. Three of the women were staff for the house. This was the end of an era, as after the war ended the arrangement of shop staff being tied to work by living arrangements quickly faded out.

Ann Blundell and her sister Alice Blundell listed as single and head of the household were sweet confectioners, running a business from home. Their titles were ‘manageress’ and ‘assistant manageress’.
